Peter and Helena Roberts have developed a new system to teach beginners to speak foreign languages.

This method is based on the natural way that children learn to speak. Using this new system, the beginner starts by speaking the language fluently using just 35 words - no long lists of verbs, tenses, or extensive vocabularies are included. The beginner learns and speaks only the words that are needed on his or her first visit to a foreign country. Or even, perhaps, their second, or third.

You too can speak a very limited vocabulary fluently in a foreign language after only a few hours' study spread over a few days, without textbooks or writing. And when you've done that, you can simply add more words, and study the language as much as you like, but each time you return to the country, you will still be fluent. It's the natural way.

This is a practical short book on the Persian Language, as spoken in Iran. It was prepared by Peter Roberts and his wife when they had a spell working in Iran, near the Persian Gulf.

Peter inserted all the business, office and engineering site vocabulary that he found useful, and his wife, who self-catered for some months there, inserted all the domestic and food words that she found useful as well. So the book is ideal for anyone going to Iran for any length of time and working away from Tehran. Few of the ordinary people speak English, including particularly taxi drivers, shop keepers, and the like.
